In the second book of his trilogy, Spiritually Incorrect Enlightenment, Jed McKenna casually drops the words “I do as I’m bid and seat myself …” in the description of one of his gripping dialogues. But “I do as I’m bid” marks the carefree, non-projecting outlook of the author who apparently lives without expectations, does not conform to any social conventions, and just follows the flow of his inner voice.
